Roller garage doors

More room for the way you use it.

A roller door lifts vertically and coils above the opening. It leaves most of the garage ceiling clear and keeps the driveway free of an outward door swing.

Think beyond the frontage

The curtain rolls into a housing above the opening

A useful option if ceiling storage, overhead services or parking close to the opening matter. There must still be room for the roll, guide channels and any motor.

Space and clearance

The roll or hood requires a defined space above or behind the opening. An inside-opening installation may reduce the clear drive-through height. Confirm this before comparing headline dimensions.

The complete specification

Slat construction, guides, seals and locking vary substantially between ranges. Compare the complete installed specification, including motor, controls, safety devices and manual release.

The trade-off to consider

A roller is not a zero-headroom door. Strong wind exposure, opening width and the proposed mounting position all need assessment. A small slat sample cannot demonstrate the performance of the whole door.

What to send for a quote

Send the opening width and height and a photo of the space above the lintel.

  • Check how much drive-through height the housing would leave.
  • Tell us if you want manual or remote operation and whether there is another way into the garage.
Consider the whole frontage

Colour, texture and proportion.

Use the gallery to narrow down the appearance you like. We confirm the available finishes on the range that suits your opening.

The details, answered

Before you choose.

Can this door be automated?

Automation depends on the specific door and mechanism. Your quotation should identify the motor, controls, safety equipment and any electrical work. We confirm compatibility rather than assume all doors accept the same operator.

What happens during a power cut?

An automated door needs an appropriate manual-release arrangement. If the garage has no separate entrance, discuss an external emergency release before ordering. Ask for a demonstration at handover and keep the instructions accessible.

Can I measure it myself?

Approximate measurements can support an initial estimate. Final manufacturing dimensions must account for the mounting position, frame, mechanism and tolerances. For a fitted order, these are confirmed through the survey. For supply only, agree measurement responsibility with your installer.

What affects the installed price?

Opening size, door range, insulation, finish, glazing, automation, removal, access and making good can all affect the price. Compare written quotations with the same scope and check VAT, electrical work and optional accessories.

Is an insulated door enough to make a warm room?

No. Walls, roof, floor, air leakage and ventilation also matter. If you plan a garage conversion, get project-specific advice about the building work and permissions before treating a replacement garage door as the whole solution.

What care does it need?

Follow the manufacturer’s cleaning and service instructions, keep moving parts clear and arrange checks where required. Do not adjust springs, cables or other loaded components yourself. Keep service records and your warranty documents.
